Deputies: Drunk grandparents tow child in toy car

Sarasota, Florida -- A grandmother and grandfather are facing numerous charges for towing a toy plastic car from behind their SUV... with their grandchild seated inside.

According to the arrest report, a Sarasota deputy on patrol spotted the SUV on Sunday, pulling a small plastic Hot Wheels car with the 7-year-old girl inside.  The toy car was connected to the SUV with dog leashes tied to the trailer hitch.

Car crashes into ''kissing'' sculpture in Sarasota

Sarasota, Florida -- One person was injured after a car crashed into a giant statue of two people kissing in Sarasota.

Our partners at WWSB report the crash happened around noon Thursday. A car traveling northbound on US 41 went across the center median and slammed into the 26-foot tall "Unconditional Surrender" statue in front of the Sarasota Bayfront Park.

Robber arrested after showing off his loot on Facebook

North Port, Florida -- If you're going to commit a robbery, don't upload pictures of yourself posing with the loot on Facebook.

North Port Police say 24-year-old Jovan Cummings found this out for himself, after investigators discovered incriminating pictures and video of Cummings on the social media website.

2 expose themselves to undercover officer at park

Venice, Florida -- Two men are in jail after they were caught playing peek-a-boo with their privates in a Venice park Tuesday morning.

According to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, in two separate incidents 36-year-old Ryan Mohr and 68-year-old Charles Coppens exposed themselves to an undercover officer at Caspersen Beach Park in an attempt to engage in sexual activity.

The two approached the officer while walking along nature trails in the eastern portion of the park.

Sarasota, Florida -- Sarasota Police headquarters was evacuated Thursday after a man brought a live hand grenade to the station.

Sarasota man arrested for the 40th time

Sarasota, Florida -- Stephen A. Brewster lists his home address as a residence on Holiday Drive in Sarasota. But those who deal with him on a regular basis might suggest he'd be better off listing the Sarasota County Jail instead.

His rap sheet seems like it's a mile long and his mug shots number more than most people have pictures on their Facebook page.

On Tuesday morning, Brewster was arrested once again... this time for car burglary.  It marks arrest number 40 in Sarasota County.
