Sarasota Schools To conduct Parent Survey

Sarasota, Florida- The Sarasota County School District will conduct its annual Parent Climate Survey from Feb. 25 to March 6.

The survey asks parents and guardians how well their schools are performing. The information is used to help measure customer satisfaction.

The link to the online survey will be posted on the Sarasota County School District website.

Respondents may take the survey by clicking on the "Parent Climate Survey" button on the left side of the home page.

Sarasota, Florida -- On Feb. 7, teachers at three public schools in Sarasota were surprised when they were revealed as the district's 2013-14 Teachers of the Year finalists by the annual Teacher Tribute Tour.

Superintendent of Schools Lori White, School Board members Jane Goodwin, Shirley Brown and Caroline Zucker and a team of district administrators and past winners congratulated the teachers as their students and peers helped celebrate the event.

Riverview High School Kiltie Band to perform Sousa Concert

Riverview High School Kiltie Band to perform Sousa Concert

Sarasota, Florida -- Here's your chance to see Riverview High School's Kiltie Band perform.

On Feb. 1, the band will take part in its annual Sousa Concert. The 90-minute show will take place at the Riverview Performing Arts Center at RHS, starting at 7 p.m.

Spectators will hear John Philip Sousa's best known pieces including "The Washington Post," "Kind Cotton," and "The Stars and Stripes Forever." 

County science fair exhibits to be judged this week

County science fair exhibits to be judged this week

Sarasota County, Florida -- Young scientists at the elementary, middle and high school levels will showcase their scientific hypotheses, research and conclusions as their exhibits are judged this week for the annual Regional Science Fair.

Doing well in this science fair a big deal for these students because the top two will have the opportunity to partcipate in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF).
