Sarasota County: Stay safe while enjoying Independence Day fireworks

Sarasota County: Stay safe while enjoying Independence Day fireworks

Sarasota County, Florida -- Every year people are taken to hospital emergency rooms in the United States because of injuries from fireworks at celebrations of July 4.  The best way to stay safe is to go to public firework displays at sanctioned community events.

Sarasota, Florida - Sarasota's new parking meters may be short lived. City Commissioners say they are considering bagging the whole idea despite spending $600-thousand dollars in taxpayer money to install them.

Local businesses complain the meters are keeping customers away.

Commissioners are considering reducing the $1 an hour fee or limiting the meters to Main Street.

Commissioners will discuss the issue at its July 5th Meeting.
