Bayside Pet Resort & Spa Launches pet donation and drop off center

Sarasota, Florida -- The Bayside Pet Resort and Spa is celebrating one year in business by giving back to the community in a big way.

Located at 8154 N. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, the now popular pet resort & spa launched Pip’s Pantry, a pet rescue donation drop-off center, within the facility, to donate to small local area pet rescues. Bayside staff made their first Pip’s Pantry donation to the Kickapoo Rescue facility this week, consisting of a full table of food, beds, supplies and $338 in cash.

Venice, Florida -- This Sunday, June 23, come out to yard sale that benefits Save the Animals Now.

All items in the yard sale are donated and 100% of the benefits go directly to Save the Animals Now. Some of the things for sale include: artwork, shoes, jewelry, kitchenware, books, appliances, TVs, furniture, sporting goods and other unique items!

The yard sale will take place at 802 The Rialto on Venice Island on the corner of The Rialto and Fiesole.

Sarasota, Florida -- It's kitten season in Sarasota and Cat Depot has rescued over 150 kittens who need a new home. 

Cat Depot is cutting the adoption fee in half for the month of June. The 50% off fee includes a veterinary exam, microchip, spay and neuter and four vaccines. 

Cat Depot is open 7 days a week  and located at 2542 17th Street in Sarasota.

Sarasota, Florida -- A Sarasota dog gets a little help from the Sarasota Police Department and Dr. Nina’s Animal Hospital.

Captain Corinne Stannish received a frantic call from a homeless woman by the name of Robin about the well being of her dog. Robin told Captain Stannish that she had an English Staffordshire Bull Terrier named Remington that lived with her on the streets.

Sarasota, Florida -- It's kitten season and already hundreds of kittens have entered shelters and foster homes across Sarasota County. 

This year local humane organizations are committed to saving every life so they are asking the public to take kittens and pregnant cats to local rescue groups to alleviate the burden on Sarasota County Animal Services.

Sarasota, Florida -- It seems like everyone is doing the Harlem Shake these days, and Cat Depot is joining in on the craze in order to draw attention to a good cause.

Cat Depot hopes the 30-second video will draw awareness to the no-kill, free roaming animal shelter just in time for the 36-Hour Giving Challenge on March 5 and 6, 2013. The video is staged inside the shelter and includes staff members and volunteers who show their creativity and enthusiasm in a very humorous and surprising way. See the video here.
