Snook Haven Park to temporarily close for utility improvements project

Sarasota, Florida -- Snook Haven Park, 5000 E. Venice Ave., Venice, will close Sept. 3 for approximately five weeks so the county can install lines for water and sewer service to the park.

The county acquired the park, located on the Myakka River, in 2006 to increase the public's access to water recreation areas. The 2.5-acre property consists of five cottages, a restaurant, a two-story single family home, an entertainment stage area, and boat and kayak launching facilities.
