Englewood, Florida -- The Warren Loranger Englewood Family YMCA will host a triathlon on Englewood Beach on July 13.

The event will feature a 400-meter swim, 13 mile bike ride, and 5K run. The event is USAT sanctioned, and is open to individuals or relay teams.

Awards are presented five deep in each division. Entry cost before June 1 is $70 individuals, $140 teams. After June 1, $80 individuals, $160 teams. Race Day pick-up begins at 5:45am at race venue.

Sarasota, Florida -- With local schools scheduled to resume on Monday, Aug. 19, Sarasota County public health and school officials remind parents to get their child's immunizations updated now. Parents of children who will be entering schools in Sarasota County for the first time must provide the school office with a completed Florida Certification of Immunization (DH 680).

Sarasota, Florida -- The Health In Motion Mobile Medical Unit staff of the Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County will provide free and low-cost health services at 11 sites around the county during July.

The Suncoast Workforce-Sarasota facility at 3660 N. Washington Boulevard (U.S. 301) in Sarasota has been added to the regular schedule, starting in July.

Get ready for the 7th Annual Firecracker 5K Run

North Port, Florida -- This patriotic 5K run will take place on July 4 at the Morgan Family Community Center.

Arrive at the community center at 7:30 a.m. for a run that will take place on a flat, fast, mixed, well mark course with water stations. Packet pick-up and race day registration will take place between 6:15 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. 

Registration fees are $15 per participant and $10 for participants 18 years and under. However, registration after June 26 (including on race day) is $20 per person.

Sarasota, Florida -- Free HIV testing will be available to the public at locations in Sarasota and Charlotte counties as part of the 19th annual National HIV Testing Day observance during the week of June 22-28.

If you have ever complained of a sore lower back, tight hamstrings, or stiff shoulders, or if you find it difficult to relax- this is the perfect Father's Day class for you.

Absolutely no flexibilty or experience is required. 

Fathers, sons, and all men are welcome.

The event will be held at The Yoga Sanctuary, 112 Sullivan Street in Punta Gorda from noon to 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 16.
