North Port, Florida -- City of North Port Fire Rescue is now offering Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) classes to the community.

These courses will follow the American Heart Association curriculum and are taught by certified instructors. Courses that are currently being offered are Heartsaver CPR AED; Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED; and BLS For Healthcare Providers.

These courses are designed to provide healthcare attendees with the skills needed to recognize a wide variety of life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, First Aid, use of an AED and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

North Port Fire Rescue is providing these courses on a regular basis, but reservations must be made, as class size is limited. There is a fee of $35.00 per person, per course, which includes study materials, hands-on training and a certification card upon successful completion.

Registration and payment for these courses must be made in advance at the Fire Rescue District Administrative Office at Fire Station #81, 4980 City Center Blvd, North Port, FL 34286 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
