King Tide photo exhibition at Mote

King Tide photo exhibition at Mote

Sarasota, Florida  -- Along with the usual exhibits at Mote Marine Aquarium, visitors can now see a photo exhibit called "Chasing the Waves". The exhibit features photographs showing King Tides, which are especially high tides.

Presented in partnership with the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program and the Tampa Bay Estuary program, the goal of the exhibit is to raise awareness about the impact of sea level rise. The displayed photos illustrate what a King Tide can do and how these high tides can mimic the conditions expected to be caused by future sea level rise.

Goodwill Manasota unleashes power of Seniors

Sarasota, Florida --Goodwill Manasota is currently putting 117 area seniors back in the workforce while serving the needs of community employers at the same time. According to Bob Rosinsky, president and CEO of Goodwill Manasota, that’s good news—though it shouldn’t be news.

“America’s senior citizens are a vital national resource,” he says. “It’s a vast pool of educated, motivated and highly trained people—and in the larger workforce so much of this potential is shamefully going to waste. Goodwill Manasota is determined to help turn that around in our region.”
