Venice, Florida -- Come support local theatre and see a performance of A Really Big Shoe! The Life and Times of Ed Sullivan.

The original musical variety show written by Venice Theatre’s playwright-in-residence Ronald Myroup, chronicles important guests of “The Ed Sullivan Show." Over the 22 years that the show was on air, many unforgettable stars appeared. From Julie Andrews, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis to Lucille Ball and Dezi Arnaz, this pioneering television show was truly the epitome of entertainment.

Actor Mark Pagliaro has big shoes to fill. He will be playing the role of Ed Sullivan. Mark has been involved with the Follies since its inception back in 1995. Elvis Presley, The Andrews Sisters and Sammy Davis, Jr. will also make appearances at the Follies this year.  Over 50 Loveland students and over 20 volunteers will be participating in the production.

Lisa Richards, a Loveland Center staff member and volunteer for the Follies says, "Students receive training through the Loveland Follies, which helps to highlight hidden talents by increasing their self-esteem, and their ability for self-expression. For example, students are encouraged to practice diction and projection improving their ability to be heard and understood.  This is a useful skill for performing in theater, as well as for self-advocacy in the community."

Kevin Venit, who will be portraying Frank Sinatra, says, "I love the Follies….I love getting into my character…. it is great learning to sing and dance as Frank did." Kevin is a Loveland student, and has been participating in the Follies since 2004.
