The production will take place on May 10-12 and your ad will appear in the program on each of the nights. The business card sized ad only cost $20! 

If you want to provide words of encouragement for the cast or crew, a 10-word congratulatory ad is only $8.

Venice, Florida -- On Friday, March 9, Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation will award much needed equipment to the Englewood Area Fire Control District during a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at the Venice Firehouse Subs. The department will get a commercial washer extractor for their firefighting turnout gear worth more than $8,800.

Publix plans for Longboat Key move forward

Longboat Key, Florida -- Publix plans for a new store and shopping plaza are moving forward in Longboat Key. After debating parking requirements, Town commissioners this week approved the Publix proposal.

If things proceed on schedule, Publix plans to raze its current store in April and then redevelop the entire shopping area. At 49,000 square feet, the new store would be larger and reopen in December 2012.

Sarasota, Florida -- With their respective mascots looking on, the leaders of Mote Marine Laboratory and the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee signed a new agreement that will results in closer ties between the two organizations.

Through this new agreement, USFSM will complete the build-out of classrooms and teaching laboratories in Mote's Marine Mammal Research and Rehabilitation Center. The arrangement will allow USFSM students and faculty to work closely with Mote researchers.

The Sarasota-Manatee Originals (SMO), a trade organization comprised of more than 50 independent restaurants from Anna Maria to Venice, Fla., announced its two newest member restaurants, Salute! and Mi Pueblo.

Salute! offers inspired Italian cuisine and an extensive wine cellar. Family-owned and operated, the restaurant is located in downtown Sarasota.

Reports: Sarasota Herald-Tribune up for sale

Sarasota, Florida -- The New York Times Co. reportedly confirmed it is in "advanced discussions" to sell the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, along with 15 other newspapers under the Regional Media Group, according to a story published Monday in the Herald-Tribune.

The story reports the New York Times Co. is looking to sell its print properties to Halifax Media Holdings LLC.
