Sarasota County, Florida -- Sarasota County Extension is offering a two-day workshop for community members who are interested in the cottage food business.

The workshop costs $15 and will be held Wednesdays, Oct. 30 and Nov. 6, 6 - 8 p.m., at Sarasota County Extension, 6700 Clark Road, Sarasota.

You may expect to find these dishes at a 5 start restaurant for 5 star prices not the case at Bistro 502. The restaurant is staffed by high school and adult students in the Commercial Foods and Culinary Arts Program at the Sarasota County Technical Institute.

Mote Scientists Nominated For Animal Conservation Award

Sarasota, Florida -- Mote scientist is nominated for world's top award for animal conservation the Indianapolis Prize. Dr. Randal Wells heads the longest-running study of a wild dolphin population.

Wells is one of 39 conservation all-stars who have been nominated. Wells is the director of the Sarasota Dolphin Research Program in Sarasota Bay that began in 1970.

The winner will be announced September 27, 2014 in Indianapolis. The winner will receive $250,000 and the five other finalists will each receive $10,000.

The Entrepreneur & Innovation Workshop will be conducted by Dr. jean Kabongo, Assistant Professor of Management at the University of South Florida. Dr. Kabongo will discuss entrepreneurship, creativity and why innovation shapes the marketplace as well as hot to develop and nurture the mindset to be innovative.
